Pin, Thread, Hole, Slot/fix
Within Transcat’s precision tools for measurement, you can select from a large inventory of pin and thread gages from the premier manufacturers. A pin gage is a metal cylinder formed to a specific diameter for measurement purposes. Using pin gage sets allows you to determine the sizes and distances of small holes and also gage slots. The largest pin that is fully inserted, with light pressure, and then extracted from a hole will determine the hole’s size. Pin gages are classified per tolerance, such as the tighter tolerance XX or the standard Z. Thread gages can check threaded parts. This type of gage is used to measure the pitch or lead of a screw thread. Starrett, Glastonbury Gage, Vermont Gage, and Mitutoyo are some of the major gage manufacturers available at Transcat today.
