Overview

The Instek GDS3104A digital storage oscilloscope features 1 GHz across four channels. It features a memory length of up to 200 Mpts/channel; a sampling rate of 5 GSa/s real-time sampling rate for half channels; and 2.5 GSa/s sampling rate for all channels. It also has a 10.2 in., 800 x 480 TFT LCD color display.

The GDS-3104A provides many functions and specifications that users require to take oscilloscope measurements, including a memory depth of up to 200 Mpts/channel. The advantage of having such a long memory is that it allows users to maintain high sampling rates, even at low speed time settings. Its waveform update rate is up to 200,000 wfm/s, while its segmented memory can capture and analyze up to 490,000 segments. The GDS-3104A incorporates a fine-scale function that allows users to fine-tune vertical scale, according to their requirements. This function helps achieve full-scale measurements, improving its overall measurement accuracy. A 10.2 in. display combined with high-resolution acquisition mode enables low-noise signal visualization, even in high-bandwidth measurement environments.

In addition, GDS-3104A is equipped with 1 M and 50 input impedance selections, which can be set according to different DUT measurement requirements, in order to achieve the effect of impedance matching. The search function can quickly find the signals that meet the conditions of the test. The cursor mark function allows users to clearly observe the voltage (or current), time and delta data of each point measured by the cursor. Via the indicator function, the measurement range can be shown at a specific section of the waveform.

For frequency domain measurement, the GDS-3104A is equipped with a dual channel spectrum analyzer, which allows users to measure and analyze the frequency domain signals of two channels at the same time. It is also equipped with Spectrogram function, which allows users to easily observe complex frequency domain fluctuations that are proportionally decomposed into simple superimposed waves. This helps users better understand the signal strength distribution. Its soft keys allow users to have more intuitive settings for operation, which can improve measurement efficiency.
