The SG 504 Sinewave Generator provides a leveled output amplitude that is variable from 245 MHz to 1050 MHz in two bands. Frequency is indicated by a high-resolution tape dial that expands each band over 28 inches. The accurately calibrated output voltage from the output head is variable from 0.5 V to at least 4.0 volts peak-to-peak into 50 ohms and is adjusted by a calibrated five-turn potentiometer.

The front panel FREQUENCY MONITOR OUT connector provides a signal of at least 0.3 Vp-p at the selected output frequency for monitoring or for external triggering. Frequency modulation of the output signal is possible. A lit up UNLEVELED light indicates a mismatched load, a need to turn the output amplitude control counter-clockwise, or that the output head is disconnected. Front and rear panel controls cannot be used simultaneously. Rear interface connections are used for the FM input, and for FREQUENCY MONITOR OUT. Frequency ranges: 245 MHz to 550 MHz, 495 MHz to 1050 MHz (plus 50 kHz or 6 MHz reference - selected by an internal switch)
